Aspen Production Record Manager

(formerly Aspen Batch.21)

A production management system for marking, tracking, trending, analyzing, and reporting of production and event data

Aspen Production Record Manager organizes actual and historical manufacturing process information to provide monitoring and analysis. It makes data available for both batch and continuous processes that can be defined in batch-like sections, and helps manage production runs, crude runs, batches, tests, transition phases, etc. Aspen Production Record Manager is a core element of AspenTech’s aspenONE® Production Management and Execution applications.

Features

  • Production Record Data Structure: Provides a flexible and dynamic record structure, allowing automatic and dynamic creation of batch structures in any third-party batch execution system. Data structures are organized into three categories: 1) Time Series Data; 2) Events; 3) Characteristics.
  • Calculated Batch Characteristics: Allows for event-based calculation in the batch context. When a new characteristic is recorded, the associated calculation for that variable is automatically triggered.
  • Batch and Event Extractor: Transfers configured data from plant-level batch execution systems directly into Aspen Production Record Manager-compliant batch historian.
  • Forensic Genealogy: Provides observation of material movements and production hierarchies with tracing to the batch attribute level for assessing what happened during past production runs and to identify root causes of product quality differences.  Allows for quick identification of impacted product to limit liability and product loss.
  • Production Record Query Tool: Allows searching for specific conditions such as material characteristics (batch, product, recipe, lot number, etc) and/or process conditions (temperature, pressure, etc.).
  • Production Data Visualization: Allows data to be used in Aspen Process Explorer, as well as Microsoft® Windows applications, such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Display formats include Single Batch Trend, Batch Overlay Trend, and Multi Batch Plot, Status Plot, and Gantt Plot.
  • Support for Industry Standards: Utilizes and builds on the ISA-S95 standard for manufacturing operations management covering Production Data Management, Production Analysis, and Product Tracking workflows. It also makes extensive use of ISA-S88 for manufacturing execution. Built on a relational database, Aspen Production Record Manager allows for full dynamic creation and implementation of ISA-S88 structures.
  • Integration Platform for Value-Add Capabilities: Together, Aspen InfoPlus.21® and Aspen Production Record Manager provide an enterprise-level manufacturing platform for connectivity between process control systems and business ERP systems. Other applications for batch process industries are integrated with Aspen Production Record Manager such as procedural compliance, work order management, scheduling, and documentation management.
